Legging it from the beach to my Good Housekeeping interview!

March 27, 2025

“Wait, what?”…….. “That’s in 15 minutes?!”
That’s what I said to my Brother, David.

He had called to remind me that we had an interview with GoodHousekeeping Online….

And I was nowhere near my laptop (I’ll explain below).

We’ve been working hard, over the past couple of years, to spread the word of YourStory!

To showcase how we help people capture their loved one’s life stories, for generations to come.

And I love doing that. Just not out of breath!

I’m not a sprinter..

Or a jogger…   (Much more of a swimmer).

But on this particular day, I had mis-scheduled and thought I had a bit of time to spare.

So there I was, taking a quick walk down to the seaside and back before starting my day.

Only for it to be cut abruptly short.

You can’t miss the Good Housekeeping!

First published in the UK in 1922, it is practically a National Institution with an audience of 4.8 million people.

And more importantly, it’s one of our Mum’s personal favourites!

(A constant feature in our living room as we were growing up).

So, after a very quick sprint up the hill.
And goodness did it feel steep.
I arrived back at home, just in the nick of time to log on and join my Brother for our interview.

It was great, we got to chat about how our YourStory books are a brilliantly unique book for gifting (even if I do say so myself!).

Not just for parents but Grandparents too and also how they can also be used for those suffering from Alzheimer’s.

It was a memorable interview, for multiple reasons….
And hopefully the out-of-breath look gave me a healthy glow that day!

You can find out more about us here and how we help turn memories into tangible, coffee table worthy keepsakes.

Do you have a story about just making it in the nick of time? Feel free to share with me at hello@yourstory.co.uk.

Warm regards, Alyson.
